Last week, Middleton-Burney Elementary School (MBES) experienced a heartwarming outpouring of solidarity and compassion as our students, staff, and families united for a truly special cause. MBES proudly organized a parade to raise awareness for cystic fibrosis (CF) and to demonstrate unwavering support for one of our beloved PreK students, Raelyn Beirman, who confronts this genetic disease with bravery each day. Thanks to the incredible generosity of our MBES community, we were able to raise over $800 to contribute to cystic fibrosis research and advocacy efforts. This remarkable achievement speaks volumes about the empathy and dedication of our students, families, and staff, proving that together, we can make a meaningful difference in the lives of those affected by CF. Your steadfast support is truly appreciated!
We encouraged students to participate in the parade by making a small donation of $2, with all proceeds directed to the Great Strides Cystic Fibrosis Foundation under the team name "Raelyn’s Roses." Throughout our school's hallways, the color purple, symbolizing cystic fibrosis awareness, was proudly displayed as students donned this hue to show solidarity with Raelyn and others impacted by CF. Leading the parade as the marshal was Raelyn herself, a shining example of courage and resilience.
Our students eagerly lined the halls, cheering on their peers and showcasing signs of encouragement. As the parade concluded, it left a lasting impression on everyone involved, serving as a powerful reminder of the strength found in community and the importance of standing by one another through life's challenges.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all who played a part in making the parade a success, whether through active participation, generous donations, or simply by being present to show support. Together, we have proven that even the smallest actions can create significant positive change.
